In Nineteen Eighty Seven
An inn of high esteem,
Inspired eleven patrons
To form a cricket team.
Never to win at all costs,
Simply to play the game,
And that by their example,
All men would do the same.
Through many a cricket season
Those founder members played,
And from this great tradition
They never would be swayed.
And when the game was over
They'd share a point of view,
With each of their opponents
Over a drink or two.
To those who follow after
Remember this with pride,
Our cricket team was founded
In order to provide,
To batsman and to bowler
The greatest opportune,
To be a loyal member of
The sporting Bold Dragoon!
